This week was finally what we had been anticipating all this time. The big event. The Business Symposium. Unfortunately our class only met once on Tuesday, due to the PSAT being on Wednesday. During this class we purely prepared for the Symposium. Just like the week before, we practiced interviews but this week we took a different approac and visited teachers around the school. My interview was with the Librarian which I didn't feel nervous for, but I started fumbling my words a couple times. As we talked, it slowly got better as I became more comfortable. But that was the only thing we did in class that week.

The big day is what im sure you want to hear about. On Thursday, October 5th, the Business Symposium took place from 12:35-4:50. I started off the day going to 1st period AP US History, and came home soon afterwards. I relaxed and got all my resumes printed out and wore my suit. I quickly realized right before I was going to leave that my resume still had the time stamped and other printing details on the paper. I worried that I would be late and this would hold me back so I just decided to leave it and apologize to anyone for it being there. The Business Symposium was being held at the newest Frisco ISD High School, Panther Creek. It was very far from what I expected however I arrived mostly early, I had asked my dad to take me so I wouldn't have to worry about parking. This ended up being a really good move and I was on time and ready. I entered the building, recieved my nametag, and found people I was familiar with. We soon after went to the Panther Creek Gym for the guest speaker. This high school was unbelievable. I took one good look and compared it to Frisco High and just felt like I was in a whole new dimension. Anyways, the guest speaker actually never showed up, for whatever reason, we ended up skippig that and headed into the student networking session which was a big brawl between groups. I got to meet professnals in a non interview manner, as well as meet students in other groups across the district. Speaking of groups, our nametags had colors on them which is what seperated us into different groups and schedules of our day. I was in the orange group. After the networking my first item on the schedule was student networking, which was to interact with people in my group. I did mostly well on this although it was still very new and difficult to me. The next part was the ISM 2 Professional Communication presentation, where ISM 2 students would present to us how to contact and "cold call" different professionals. Next we headed to the ISM 2 Orginal Work presentation, where ISM 2 students showed off their Original Work from last year and gave us a guide on how we could make our own and how it relates to our research. And then we met ISM Alumni, who were people who were in college or in their career who had taken ISM, and they guided us on how to use ISM to our advantage. After this was the big part. Interviews A and Interviews B. For interview A, I ended up very unlucky as I got cut off in front of a professional and when I turned around, every single person was seated and proceeding with their interview, I saw a ISM 2 student I could practice with although it wasn't preferred and I really had wished to get a professional. She was very kind and gave me great advice on ISM however and how to use it to my advantage and I knew for the 2nd interview in Interview B, I had to go like a heat seeking missle and get a professional. I spotted a guy I felt like I could relate to and starting fast walking to him, luckily I landed him and I was right, we bonded over the Dallas Cowboys and he gave me great advice on what to search for in life and what to prioritize. And afterwards we had a ISM 2 Social Media Presentation which ISM 2 students showed us how to organize LinkedIN and our website. And finally we had a professional panel with 3 professionals in the Dallas area. I thought this woudn't be very useful but it ended up being a very nice presentation and I learned a lot about the mistakes they made and what they would change to fix or better their lives. Aftr that I headed home ready to enjoy the 4 day weekend after a long amount of networking and I am very proud of what I have accomplished so far and feel that my abilities have grew far beyond what I ever expected to be at this point in my life.
